Meet Sandra!

Sandra was born on November 27, 1985 and is an only child. She is an active member of her community of Oromocto. Sandra has been working at Sobeys since July 2007 and she loves her work in the bakery department. In addition, to her work at Sobeys, she answers phones and does other tasks at OTEC with her support worker. She loves knitting and has some of her work displayed at the Oromocto Gallerina for sale. She also loves the time she spends at Camp Rotary with her friends and the camp leaders. She lives in her own space on the lower level of her parents’ home. Sandra cares for a pet, “Silas” the cat. Her favourite colour is purple. She is a leader. She recently spoke at the Opal Family Services AGM on the benefits of the Adult Drop-In offered weekly at the Gibson Memorial Church at 183 Gibson Street. She readily makes friends and is indeed a good friend. She made and distributed small handmade gifts to each of her friends throughout October.

Some of her other passions are dancing, karaoke, photography, five-pin bowling, curling, and golfing. She is a gardener, camper, traveller and shopper. In attending the Alltones, an All Abilities singing group, Sandra gets to indulge in karaoke-style singing and dancing to the tunes featured for the month. Sandra loves to talk about her travels to Germany. We have yet to see her photos and look forward to having her “Show and Tell” us about her trips abroad.

Sandra is an example of living life to the fullest in the community of her choice.  At L’Arche Fredericton we are honoured to have her a part of Friendly Freddy Fridays. She is full of ideas and energy, has a great sense of humour and is a force to be reckoned with at Charades and as Queen of the Dance Floor.
